LIVESTRONG CHALLENGE

First things first... Lee is not totally opposed to entering the blog world!  He was actually pretty happy about it.  The craziest thing happened too--I set up my blog and then the very next day I got messages from 3 friends letting me know about their own.  I'm not sure what the protocol is for adding links to friends blogs, so someone please correct me if it isn't nice to add a link.  I'm going to try to figure that out later.

On to what I really wanted to talk about today.  Kicking cancer's butt.  Everyone has personally had experience with cancer (yes, I am being emphatic, everyone).  Maybe you have a friend, co-worker, or family member that has had cancer, or maybe you have even personally battled the hideous disease.  

I lost my grandpa, Popeye, on October 28, 2007 to lung cancer.  I HATE the disease.  I was able to spend a great deal of time with my family and Popeye through the entire process.  I do not regret the fact that I was with my family through the entire process; I cherish the time I got to spend with them.  My grandpa was one of the most amazing people to live.  He touched so many lives and had such a kind heart.  So many people came to visit and help; so many had intimate experiences with all kinds of cancer.  THAT is what I regret.

Hello Blogger World!

So, I've spent a lot of time contemplating this whole blogging issue. It seems like everyone does it, but that really isn't a good enough reason for me to jump on board. I know, I know, it is sort of non-conformist. I'm actually not a non-conformist as much as I need some reason to personally engage in a particular activity other than the fact that everyone else is doing it. I digressed...

Blogging is a fairly decent way of informally communicating with others--so that got me. I'm thinking Lee might take a while to hop on board, but I think he'll like it too. Eventually. Maybe. OK, I might be kidding myself, he's going to hate it at first. He's very anti-Facebook/MySpace even though his interst is occasionally peaked when I'm browsing. Anyone reading this blog HOPEFULLY already knows us fairly well, so that said...
