About Me

My photo
We got married in February 2008 and decided to start a blog for fun. Lee works for Enterprise. He would like everyone to know that he is tall, dark, and handsome. He plays the guitar and enjoys living life to the fullest. Haley is an RN in Fort Worth. She enjoys playing the piano, going to movies, and spending time with family. We hope you enjoy our family blog!

Appendectomy...really?

Long story short, I had an appendectomy Tuesday 05/18/10 @ 7:35 P.M.  I'm now at home, sore, a little grumpy, and a lot thankful.  I start nursing school Monday morning @ 730 and can't lift more than 10lbs, walk up inclines, or ride a bike for 6 weeks; no driving for 1 week.  This should be very interesting.  I'll post more when I'm feeling better.  Thanks for all of your prayers : )

p.s. I will NOT be posting pictures : )  You're welcome.

Very Appropriate

Movin and Shakin

Lee and I...well, I am packing for Houston right now (Lee is working).  Our prayers were answered on the house when the renters fell through.  We know we're supposed to keep our home and Lee here in DFW for the next year.  We'll figure out what we're supposed to do after that when the time comes!

I am knee deep in boxes, packing tape, and newspapers so I'll keep this one short.  Shelley gets to TEXAS tonight!!!  I can't wait to see my whole family together again tomorrow!!

Life in a Nutshell...Right Now

Lee is working with Enterprise in South Fort Worth and LOVING his new store.

Haley has decided to go to UTHSC Houston and complete the Accelerated BSN.

Fort Worth and Houston are about 4.5 hours apart.

What to do?

Put the house on the market, pray for guidance.
Get a place to live in Houston, pray for guidance.
Have REALLY interested renters, as of Saturday, that seem awesome but in the back of your head you're still afraid they'll tear up your home, pray for guidance.
Find out, today, that Enterprise has a job available in Houston that would be a lateral move (and not a demotion like they usually are when you change cities), pray for guidance.

Anyone notice a trend here?

We'd really prefer to sell our home and have a clean break.  The plan up until last week was that I'd move to Houston for 12 months to complete school and then we'd reassess the situation.  Lee and I were really dreading it and let's be honest, paying for a home and apartment on a single income is a challenge (I'm trying to be positive).  Now we think Lee MIGHT be able to transfer to Houston and we've found a very interested 2-3 year tenant and we might not have to live apart and we'll be able to sleep because we're with each other and...and...and WOW.

Lee and I are really hoping we know what we're supposed to do in the next few weeks because, um...I'm moving to Houston May 15th and the program starts May 24th.  We'd both LOVE to stay in Houston because it is closer to Victoria where both of our families live, but Lee has a wonderful career (not just a job) here in DFW and since he can't have babies....well his career is more important right now.  To date, every door that has needed to open since we made the decision for me to go back to school has swung WIDE OPEN.  We're hoping this is one more open door that we can be thankful for on this journey.  Please keep us in your prayers for guidance and sanity over the next few weeks!

I found this very appropriate picture today during a mini-meltdown:

Thank You!

I could never have imagined I would receive so much support.  I ended up being #14 on the Great American Grad contest and my essay is now being judged along with the rest of the top 25.  THANK YOU for helping me make the top #25!  Now I just have to pray that my essay is selected, even considering I copied and pasted it from Word only to notice that what should be "pursuing" came out "pursing."  Kind of funny!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!
