The news is in.....we're having a little BOY!!! We are just over the moon that we get to be parents to a little boy. Honestly we both thought it was a girl at first, but at the appointment we both looked at each other and said "BOY" AND we both wore blue without thinking about it.
In addition to finding out that we're having a little BOY {looks all official in capital letters, doesn't it?} we had the anatomy scan completed. The anatomy scan goes through each body system and looks closely at the brain, heart, digestive system, and kidneys to make sure they have formed correctly and are functioning properly. Long story short, everything points to a healthy little boy due at the end of November. They said he weighed about 10 ounces at my appointment and would be doubling that weight in the next few weeks. BOY, I believe that! My preggy belly is making a debut even in my hippie chick free flowing tops!
I have started to feel little movements; to me, they feel like flutters or bubbles. If I had to describe it I'd say to hold a glass of freshly poured really fizzy soda and that is what it feels like inside. I am starting to think we can feel them on the outside too, but Lee insists he can't feel anything just yet. It is hard for me to tell if my hand is feeling something or my tummy is feeling something! We are thinking of names for our little BOY, but we haven't decided on a specific name just yet. We like a few, but nothing sounds perfect yet. My nausea/vomiting/pukefest 2012 have gotten a little more manageable, but are still very present. A friend {thanks Veronica} suggested cold canned peaches, and they seem to work when it hits me in the morning or when I haven't eaten a substantial meal. I know, I know, there are some of you that are going to say "Well, Haley, just eat a substantial meal!" Easier said than done when every bite of food feels like it is sitting in your neck and might come back up at a moments notice. Trust me. I've tried EVERYTHING. Preggy pops? Might as well buy suckers cause that is what they are....candied sugar. SeaBands? Don't work for me, but do cut off my circulation a little and make my hand veins buldge after a few hours. Zofran? Seems to work sometimes, but nothing consistent. Phenergan? I'd like to say it works, but it just knocks me out so I'm not sure it gets rid of the nausea so much as it just...knocks me out so I can't tell if I'm going to puke. That's the short list. I've tried A LOT more. I eat about every 2 hours and just grin and bear it at work when smells and sounds {that aren't great} trigger involuntary gagging/puking/running to the bathroom/finding the nearest vomit appropriate receptacle. In HAPPY vomit news, I {think} I have gained a pound. A whole pound! This is a big deal when I've lost 15 since I found out I was pregnant. I am SOOOO proud of that pound!
Well, enough for now. I am kind of in a mood {when am I not} and being silly. I start in the ICU tomorrow and am excited/terrified. I hope I am not a total retard when it comes to being a beginner there, and I really hope the smells don't get to me with my {currently awesome} smelling capabilities. We are all doing amazing. Harper didn't get much press in this post, but she is an absolute doll and {totally} knows I'm preggy. She cuddles up to my tummy ALL THE TIME. She LOVES her little brother!
I don't know why, but I can't help but remember that commercial about phone rates....hmmmm I can't even remember the company. Oh....here it is {below}!
Hilarious every single time!

3+1=4
Lee, Haley, and Harper are excited to announce that a little baby is on the way. Our little angel will be here in late November according to the experts, November 29th to be exact! More details to come, but I will leave you with a photo taken by one of my friends at work {one of the many perks of being a nurse...I can take a peek at the baby} who is a first time sono photographer. I think she did an excellent job!

Blog Death
We have been so busy living life that this blog looks like it has died a slow horrible death!
We are alive and well {well actually I'm sick right now, but well being a relative term...} here in DFW!
Harper has been doing amazing. She knows where to potty, what not to chew {most of the time}, sit, stand, jump, and just recently SING! She only sings to one song, but she totally knows what it means. I have this beautiful version of For the Beauty of the Earth by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and she just howls away to it. I caught it on video, but have to figure out how to load that to my computer and then the blog!
Well, this update is short. I have LOTS of things to get done for Christmas, and Harper is begging for a tummy rub : )
Hope all is well for y'all!!!!

Haybear's Miss Harper Lee
This little girl has absolutely stolen our hearts and changed our lives. She is such a little clown! She thinks EVERYTHING is a game; she MAKES everything a game! She goes almost everywhere with us and fits into our little family perfectly. We're really not sure how we lived without her. She really is the perfect little girl for us and she came into our lives at the perfect time!
A little about Harper...
Names: Haybear's Miss Harper Lee (officially), Harper Lee DeLaGarza (her human name), Harper, Harpsey, Harper bear, Harps, Harper toad, Toadie, Toad Frog
Favorite toys: Big blue, Dino, Chester, Mr. Squeaks, and socks
Favorite treat: Ice (this includes crushed, cubed, and shaved.....well really any kind)
Favorite places to sleep: curled up in Mommy's arms, the back of the couch between the cushions
Food preference: indifferent; she really doesn't care about food, but loves water poured from a bottle into her bowl
Favorite game: 'I can't get out from under the couch so I'm going to growl like Kujo; but really I can get out on my own if you squeak the right toy'
Favorite dogs: Maggie, Libby, Sophie, & Sookie (she may be a Frenchie but she loves her Pugs)
Likes: car rides, belly scratches and rubs, jumping off the stairs, laying in the sun, getting her nails filed, sneaking into the shower when Mommy and Daddy aren't watching for her
Dislikes: the yard men, wet grass (mud however is VERY fun), the printer, the vacuum, getting out of the car

Workout Blog
So I started a workout blog {that is private--only for me} a few months ago. I'm trying to be happy with ME and desperately trying to change or work on aspects of my life that bother me. Well, ones of those things is being a pudge. I'm sick of it.
This is a post I'm willing to share from that blog/really a journal.
Happy Healthy {Half of a} Haley Update
So I started work June 13th. I underestimated substantially how taxing an internship + working out + having a new puppy + having a life would be. I dropped off on running so much, partly because I was EXHAUSTED when I got home, but mostly because it has been in the 110-115 degree range in the DFW area for the past few weeks. It has been dangerously hot. No excuses.....I just dropped off the workout scene and focused on Happy Haley instead of the Healthy {Half of a} part. Well, that all changed July 31st.

I stopped drinking soda on July 31, 2011. I finished my internship out that week with three full days of learning M-W and night shifts Thursday and Friday. I cannot begin to describe the kill me now/am I having a stroke/dear God please make this end feelings I was having. I drank a TON of water to help, but it SUCKED. The beautiful thing is that by Saturday I wasn't really craving soda, specifically coke, every second of the day. I haven't entirely cut caffeine, but I only have it in coffee form once or twice a week. I was still drinking calories (Hi-C, lemonade, lime slushes from Sonic, etc...) to help ease my way into the soft drink ban. That ended August 24 (yesterday). I have really been pretty OK with it. I don't plan to cut ALL drink calories. If I want a smoothie to accompany a small meal, so be it. I still plan to drink orange juice and milk. I'm just cutting the sugary, non-nutritive calories from liquid format. LOVE ME SOME H2O!
In addition to these changes, I have started doing CrossFit. What is this CrossFit you ask? Google it. Then Google CrossFit abs. You'll be sold. I started the fundamentals class on the 16th and 17th and just completed my 5th class today. To be honest, I am the worst/weakeast/wimpiest/any other word that begins with a W and sucks, but I LOVE it. I FEEL stronger. I feel like my body loves {and sometimes hates} me after I finish a WOD {Workout Of the Day}. It makes me feel energized. It is a total stress release {mostly because my body is trying so hard to cope that I can't think}. I'm in LOVE with this new LIFESTYLE. It really is a LIFESTYLE. There is an entire CrossFit culture that, so far, I love. Everyone is so welcoming, encouraging, and genuine. We all cheer each other on and push each other to do better. It isn't a competition between each other, but a competition with ourselves to do better than the time before. I could go on and on and on about CrossFit. Honestly, I have my good friend from nursing school, Lindy, to thank for introducing me to it. She put together some "sanity sessions" of CrossFit while we were in school that made me puke......and however demented it makes me, I was hooked.
Well, on to a not so nice subject. I went to Neiman Marcus on Tuesday to find a dress for an upcoming wedding and rehearsal dinner. I tried on a bunch of dresses and found 2 that fit, and one that I loved but that was tight in the chest. I don't like to buy clothes that are tight and try to fit into them.....that's just me. Well, long story short, the lady who I will never ever forget {Sara in the formal dresses section, about a size 00, about 60} told me, and I quote "You really do need to lose some weight." WOW. I walked out of there as quickly as I could given the fact that I was incredibly sore from 150 wall balls {Google them} the day before and made it just out of the doors and into the parking lot before the first tears fell down my cheeks. Did that really just happen? At Neiman's? Who is she to say something like that to me? I could have said all sorts of things to her. It isn't like she was the most attractive person in the world...but I would NEVER! It really hurt my feelings and I cried pretty much the whole way home. Does she know how hard I have tried to lose weight? Does she know that shopping for clothes is an agonizing process for me? Does she realize I cry 10 out of 10 times I enter a dressing room? Hell, just to try to make myself feel good about going I woke up really early and got all dressed up, fixed my hair, and just really tried to boost my self-esteem in the mirror! If it were easy for me to be thin, believe me, I would be.
When I got home I changed clothes and went to CrossFit. I don't want to lost weight for her. I want it for ME.
For better or worse, I will be a Happy Healthy {Half of a} Haley. That is probably one of the top 5 ugliest experiences I have ever had, but I think it hurt the worst. I'm not really big on critiquing others. I believe we all have our flaws. That said, I'm not going to remain fat and try to make some statement about "big is beautiful" to spite her. I don't want to be big anymore. It doesn't FEEL GOOD FOR ME. I don't care what size or weight you are, you have to FEEL GOOD and BE HEALTHY.
Well, this was a very long post. I'm going to try to chronicle my experiences better/more frequently. Wow, I cried just writing about that woman. UGH. CrossFit rocked my socks off today. I feel better than I have in a VERY long time. Even if I stay the same size/weight/shape, I'll keep doing CrossFit because it makes me FEEL amazing!

Another Month
Things have been so insanely busy! I'm talking the kind of busy that you come home and crash on the couch with your clothes on because you're that tired kind of busy. I am well into my new job and I love it. It is unlike any other new job; it is just so different. Lee got promoted to a location that is about 5 minutes from our house {we both love that}. His new position has been extremely busy and resulted in many 13+ hour days, but he loves it! We are both very thankful for Enterprise.
Harper is the perfect addition to our family. She is full of energy and loves to play, but if I am sleeping on the couch, she is in my lap in under a minute to cuddle. She knows when it is time to go to bed and snuggles up on my tummy to sleep. She is potty trained about 90% of the way. She has a few accidents, but I usually blame myself or Lee for not recognizing that she needed to go out.
Sorry for the blah, hum-drum post, but we really have just been working and playing with Harper! Hopefully I'll have some exciting things to talk about next time.......

1 Month
Wow has it really been a month since my last post?
1. I passed my boards and got my license!!!!!!
2. I started my new J-O-B
3. Lee and I will be welcoming a new member to our family SOON!
It was kind of a relief to pass boards. The final punctuation mark on a huge year.
Lee and I both love my new job. JPS is really an amazing place; I am so thankful for the patients and people there.
We are still ironing out a few of the details, but we will soon be welcoming a very special little girl into our family. Her name is Harper and she is oh so beautiful! She came to visit us last weekend and fell in love with her Daddy {I think he is a little bit in love with her too}!
